UM Travels To RMU For 1st League Games Of 2017
MICHIGAN/ROBERT MORRIS – The Wolverines travel to Chicago to take on the Eagles in the first league game of the new year. Michigan enters the series at 2-6-0 (1-2, CCWHA) while Robert Morris finished the first half of the season at 12-6-1 (5-3, CCWHA). Puck drop set for 7pm on both Friday, Jan. 13 and Saturday, Jan. 14.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Number three in the standings, Robert Morris has put in 81 goals for and allowed just 52 goals against in 2016. The Eagles are led by Allyson Zachwieja with 25 points (14g, 11a). Bria Berggren has tallied 21 points (7g, 14a) and Rebecca Dilley has put up 20 points (9g, 11a) to finish off the top three point leaders.
Lauren Yomantas has earned a 6-0 record thus far, allowing just 1.88 goals against per game in her six games in net. With a .893 save percentage, Yomantas has posted a single shutout for Robert Morris. Kendra Gallaher has registered a 6-6-1 record after half of the season. Gallaher averages 2.94 goals against per game with a .884 save percentage.
In the Eagles’ last games, they swept fellow league member Davenport University. Yomantas registered both wins, 4-1 and 4-1. In the first win, Dilley grabbed three points (2g, 1a), Zachwieja tallied a single goal and Makaila Anderson also lit the lamp once. Berggren (2a), and Alex Nurse (1a) got the apples. RMU’s second win, again 4-1, had goals from Berggren (1g), Dilley (1g, 1a), Marissa Brokaw (1g) and Katie Merrell (1g).
SCOUTING THE WOLVERINES
Michigan heads to Chi-town with 16 goals for and 32 goals against in just eight ACHA games so far. Morgan Baird leads in total points with five (4g, 1a). Mercedes Reyes (2g, 2a) and Grace Nardiello (2g, 2a) each have registered four points.
Madeline Chen has seen time in net for two games with a 1-1 record. Chen averages 4.76 goals against per game and has a .872 save percentage. Bailey Hamill sits at 1-5, with a .855 save percentage. Hamill averages 3.73 goals against per game.
In Michigan’s last game, they faced off with University of Massachusetts in the ACHA showcase in November. In the 6-2 loss, Chen picked up 25 saves on 31 shots on goal, while Nardiello tallied two goals. Reyes (1a), Baird (1a) and Caroline Hurd (1a) with the helpers.
LAST TIME OUT
In the 2015-16 season, the Eagles and the Wolverines split the series with Michigan grabbing the 2-1 win and Robert Morris tallying a 3-0 win. In the 3-0 RMU win, Grace Dynek tallied two goals while Anderson grabbed two assists. Madison Schultz grabbed the Eagle’s third goal. Michigan’s 2-1 had a goal from Jenna Trubiano and assists from Reyes (2a) and Lia Harrington (1a).
