SCOUTING THE EAGLES
RMU has earned a 6-5-0 ACHA and 0-2 CCWHA record after putting in 52 goals for and 39 goals against this season. Allyson Zachwieja has put up 18 points (10g, 8a) with one power play goal, while Emily Urban leads the assist category and has 13 total points (3g, 10a) with one power play goal as well. Makaila Anderson powers through with 12 points (9g, 3a) off of three power play goals, one short-handed goal and two game-winning-goals. Kendra Gallaher as earned a 5-5-0 record thus far while averaging 3.13 goals against. Gallaher has made 237 saves and has a .884 save percentage. Lauren Yomantas, new to the team this season, has recorded a single win (1-0-0) for Robert Morris. Yomantas averages 5.79 goals against with a .805 save percentage.
The Eagles’ last game came during the ACHA showcase that they hosted, against Lindenwood-Belleville in the ‘championship’ game. RMU dropped the third and final game of the weekend to LUB, 5-2, after winning their first two matchups against Wisconsin and Midland. Zachwieja and Alex Nurse put in the two Eagles goals in the loss, while Gallaher was in net stopping 39 of 44 shots on goal.
SCOUTING THE BUCKEYES
Ohio State is 0-5-1 in ACHA play, 0-4 in CCWHA play with eight goals for and 30 goals against for 2016-17. Jessica McCoy (2g, 1a) and Emilie Dunlap (2g, 1a) both lead the goal category while Melinda Vercollone (1g, 3a) sits at the top of the assist tallies. Selena Hunter has been in net for three games, with an 0-3-0 record. Hunter averages 4.72 goals against while making 162 saves for a .920 save percentage. Emily Ciborek returns from last season, this year earning a 0-2-1 record so far. Ciborek averages 4.09 goals against, has a .903 save percentage and has made 140 saves in three games.
The Buckeyes hosted Division-1 CCWHA member Davenport University in their last games, dropping both games to the Panthers, 5-2 and 7-0. McCoy and Dunlap tallied the goals while Vercollone had a single assist. Hunter was in net making 51 saves on 55 shots faced. Ciborek was in net for the 7-0 loss, stopping 47 of 54 shots on goal.
LAST TIME OUT
Last season, Robert Morris tallied a 6-3 win in the first game against the Buckeyes, and the two teams played to a 5-5 tie in the second game. Zachwieja (1g, 2a), Grace Dynek (3g) and Madison Schultz (1g) had the goals in the 6-3 for Robert Morris while Gallaher had the win with 29 saves on 32 shots on goal. For Ohio State, Vercollone tallied two goals and Ciborek stopped 36 of 42 shots. In the 5-5 tie, Vercollone (1g, 3a), McCoy (2g, 1a) were the goal scorers and Dunlap had a single assist for OSU. Ciborek grabbed the tie in net with 57 saves on 62 shots. Schultz (1g), Anderson (1g, 1a) and Rebecca Dilley helped the Eagles get to five goals, and Zachwieja had three helpers.
