BURTON, MI – The Central Collegiate Women’s Hockey Association is ready to host the 2020 Playoffs, with this year taking place at Crystal Fieldhouse in Burton, MI from February 28- March 1. The top six teams in the league will play to become the CCWHA Playoff Champions, and to earn an auto bid to the ACHA National Tournament. Here is what to know from this season, about the top six teams participating for the 2020 playoffs.
SOUTH BEND, IN. – The Division 2 CCWHA Division 1 championship game is set to have the No. 6 seed, Michigan State University, against the No. 2 seed, Miami University. Puck drop is set for 1 pm at Compton Ice Arena.
GRAND VALLEY/OHIO STATE – The 8-6-3 Lakers play at Ohio State home ice for both team’s first games of 2017. The Buckeyes are 0-7-1 (0-6, CCWHA) while Grand Valley is 2-5-1 in CCWHA play. Game times are set for 8pm on Saturday, Jan. 14 and 2pm on Sunday, Jan. 15.
MICHIGAN/ROBERT MORRIS – The Wolverines travel to Chicago to take on the Eagles in the first league game of the new year. Michigan enters the series at 2-6-0 (1-2, CCWHA) while Robert Morris finished the first half of the season at 12-6-1 (5-3, CCWHA). Puck drop set for 7pm on both Friday, Jan. 13 and Saturday, Jan. 14.
COLUMBUS, OH – Robert Morris University heads to Ohio to take on the Buckeyes of Ohio State University. Puck drop set for 730 pm on Friday, November 19 and 5 pm on Saturday, November 20.
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Ranked 7th in the latest ACHA poll, the Michigan State Spartans head to Grand Rapids to take on 14th ranked Davenport University Friday, October 7th in the Panthers home opener at 8pm.
COLUMBUS, OH – The Division-2 CCWHA member, Aquinas College, travels to Division-1 Ohio State University for the first time in both program’s history for a weekend series, Friday Sept. 23 and Saturday Sept. 24.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mi. – The Lakers of Grand Valley take on CCWHA league members the Panthers of Davenport University, Friday, February 5 at 8pm. They rematch on February 7 at 2:30pm.
SCOUTING : GRAND VALLEY
The Lakers are led by Tea Greca, who has racked up 25 points (13g, 12a) in just 13 games this season. Greca has averaged .83 goals a game, .75 assists per game and 1.58 points per game in league play. Greca has also tallied three power play goals and three short-handed goals. Stacey Mathieu has registered 19 points (12g, 7a). Mathieu has put in two game-winning-goals. Taylor Lampar rounds out the top three point leaders for Grand Valley with 16 points (11g, 5a). Lampar averages .58 goals a game and .83 points per game.
In net for the Lakers, Taylor Watson has earned a 8-2-0 record with three shutouts. Watson averages 1.80 goals against and .913 save percentage while only allowing 18 goals against. Watson sits at the No. 3 spot for both goals against average and save percentage for the league. Lauren Allen has got a 4-4-0 record with just 25 goals against. Allen averages 2.77 goals against average while gaining a .900 save percentage. Morgan Lang has been in net for a 3-0-0 record with one shutout. Lang has averaged .67 goals against and a .953 save percentage.
Grand Valley took on University of Wisconsin in their last games, picking up two wins with scores of 6-3 and 3-0. Allen picked up the first win with 19 saves on 22 shots on net. Mathieu snagged six points (4g, 2a) on the weekend while Lampar (2g) and Greca (1g,1a) also picked up points against Wisconsin. Watson was in net for the second game, grabbing 22 saves on 22 shots on net for a non-league shutout.
SCOUTING : DAVENPORT
Lexie Boydston leads the Panthers with 20 points (15g, 5a) while averaging .50 goals a game. Laken Kunz has tallied 18 points (6g, 12a) while Adrienne Porcalla has put up 16 points (12g, 4a) on the season. In net, Karley Ferguson has earned a 5-9-1 record with one shutout. Ferguson has averaged 2.38 goals against this season with a .927 save percentage. Dawn Salo has been in net for a 4-4-0 record with two shutouts. Salo averages 3.43 goals against with a .892 save percentage.
In their last games Davenport took on Penn State University for a single game and Liberty University for two games. The Panthers got the win over PSU, 2-1, but got swept by Liberty 3-0 and 2-0.
LAST TIME OUT : PANTHERS V. LAKERS
Last season Grand Valley took down the Panthers twice, 1-0 and 2-0. Corey Robison got the lone goal in the first game for GV, while Allen got the shutout making 20 saves. Kristen Ianuzzi, and Katie Danto got the goals in the second game for the Lakers while Watson was in net making 13 saves for her shutout.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The Ohio State University Buckeyes (1-9-1 ACHA, 0-7-1 CCWHA) travel to take on the Panthers of Davenport University (6-11-1 ACHA, 2-4-1-1 CCWHA) in a two-game league series. The game times are set for Friday, January 22 at 8 p.m. and Saturday the 23rd at 11:30 a.m.
LAST TIME OUT : Davenport Completes Sweep With Two 2-0 Wins
The Panthers prevailed twice last season against Ohio State, picking up two wins, 2-0 and 2-0. Emily Ciborek made 46 saves on 48 shots faced in the first game while picking up 49 saves on 51 shots in the second game for Ohio State. Laken Kunz and Lexie Boydston each tallied a single goal while Darian Adams grabbed two goals on the weekend.
SCOUTING: OHIO STATE
Melinda Vercollone leads the Buckeyes with nine points (5g, 4a) while averaging .71 goals per game. Vercollone also averages .57 assists per game and 1.29 points per game in CCWHA play. Jessica McCoy has tallied four goals this season while averaging .50 goals per game and .75 points per game.
In their last games played this season, they faced off against league member Robert Morris University, picking up a win and a tie against the Eagles. Vercollone with two goas on the weekend, while Brittany Brandon also grabbed a single goal. Ciborek made 36 saves on 42 shots on net in the 6-3 loss.
SCOUTING : DAVENPORT
The Panthers are led by Lexie Boydston with 17 points (13g, 4a). Laken Kunz has recorded 15 points (5g,10a) while Adrienne Porcalla has registered 12 points (10g, 2a). Porcalla averages .57 goals a game in CCWHA play.
Goaltender Karley Ferguson has racked up a 3-7-1 record so far with one shutout. Ferguson averages 2.42 goals against while earning a .931 save percentage. Dawn Solo has been in net for a 3-4-0 record, also with one shutout. Solo has a 3.95 goals against average and a .877 save percentage.
Davenport’s last games were played against CCWHA Division-2 member Aquinas College with the Panthers emerging with the win, 5-1. Solo was in net making 18 saves on 19 shots. Boydston tallied wo goals while Porcalla also registered two points (1g, 1a).
